Listen to my
murmur
recording about smog...
This is panoramic view of the west end of Toronto.
It was taken on Saturday Morning 8 June 2002. Just a week and a day before June 16th, the day that Greg Allan passed away. This is the view from my high rise balcony. Although you can see a band of
BROWN
hovering above the horizon, overall it's not a bad air day, eh?

The Weather Network again is advising of a bad air quality day. In english that means
SMOG
. I took these five photos and stitched them together. This panoramic shot of the western horizon of Toronto was taken just after sunrise on the morning of Friday, August 9, 2002. Even at this early hour, the band of
BROWN
coloured air is clearly visible just at the horizon.

It's now an hour later, 7 a.m. on Friday 9 August 2002. As the sun heats up the early morning air, the SMOG seems to be heating up if you look closely in the distance, the vertical band of
BROWN
coloured air has increased in length. This is pretty much the view I had on the morning of Thursday June 20th 2002, when I looked out from my high-rise balcony, before starting my drive up north to Owen Sound and Greg Allan's Funeral.

It's now 8 a.m. and I take the final seven shots of the morning and stitch them together. The result is the panoramic record of the SMOG filled Toronto morning on Friday August 9 2002. At this hour, the sun's been up for about two hours or so and has cooked the low lying surface air. What that means, is now, the
SMOG
that was hovering near the ground all night has now risen to about the height of my Apartment Balcony. I can actually
Smell
it! But that's life in any big city, a few days like this sprinkled throughout the summer, will become the norm during the 21st Century. I still think SMOG Sucks though.
